AYTT - Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training - Kena Wiggins

Kena is a graduate of Atlantic Yoga Teacher Training and is thrilled to be a part of AYTT as one of the lead teachers. She is trained in yoga for seniors, pre and post natal yoga and yoga for children and has completed her 500-hour certification. Kena has also studied mindfulness in schools and yoga in schools. She has a science degree in Biochemistry-Nutrition, an Education degree and a  Masters degree in Education.

Yoga found Kena in the early 1990’s while in university getting her Science Degree. Her best friend brought her to a hatha yoga class on campus.  Yoga became an even larger part of her life during her second pregnancy after which she decided to enroll in teacher training with founding teacher, Jody Myers. Her first class after graduating from AYTT in 2010,  was leading a group of seniors. Since then she has taught gentle Kripalu classes, prenatal classes, yoga for toddlers,  and led several school-based yoga programs for children. As well as being a yogi, Kena is also a public school teacher. It was during her time leading lunchtime yoga classes in schools, that she decided to go back to university to get her Masters in Education and now works supporting children with diverse needs.

Kena met John and Michelle several years ago and immediately felt she had met two of “her people”. They share a love of yoga, laughter, chanting and bear hugs.
